After reading the many reviews, I decided to buy this 30 piece set figuring that I would need to clean off all the grease, file down the bump under the black plastic cover caps and that I would then have a pretty acceptable set of clamps. Well Denali must have been reading these reviews, becaues although I will need to file off the rounded bump that a few people mention, the claps DID NOT come covered in grease or thick oil and none even broke through the crappy cardboard shipping box (but I can see how they might easily do so). I screw wood 1 x 2's to my walls or solid core doors as an easy method to store my clamps. After attaching my clamps to their resting place it was VERY OBVIOUS that many of these clamps are not true (square). All my U.S. and German clamps look nice a neat with their bars hanging straight down and paralel to one another. Many of these Denali clamps look like someone was cross eyed when they were being made. Numerous clamps are far from paralel as they hang on the clamp rack. I will see if there is any way that I can bend the really bad ones without breaking them, otherwise I will probably toss quite a few in the trash. Even so, the ones I will have left over still end up at a pretty good price. I am not angry that I bought them, but I would never buy them again. Better to have less clamps for the money and have them true and square

I'm cheap... so I bought these clamps. I'm going to repeat a few other reviews...
The box that the clamps are sent in are pure crap... I had a set of clamps hanging out of mine. The box only matters for package delivery, which in my case was a bit scary. The quality of the clamps are just OK... remember you are buying cheap clamps. I had 3 clamps that if there was a simple process of returning I would. 1 clamp had a cracked handle, 1 clamp had a lot of reverse play, and the last one had a small crack in the metal on the head portion. Also the pads are better than nothing and that is about it. I bought the Denali 3/4 pipe clamp package as well and the quality is much better on those...

I bought a few clamps in this style from Harbor Freight that are better but cost a bit more as well. So for less than $4 (average) per clamp... they hard to beat.

The above clamps arived without problem. UPS or the manufacter got it right. The clamps were clean and ready to use...with the exception of the flat surface on the molded section of the bottom of the clamp. I ground all of them smooth with a seven inch grinding disk. Took about 15 min. Repainted with a little grey paint. The cushions now stay in place and the surface will not mare your project.
